My Passion.
I would like to help others gain knowledge & ability through the things I've learned over the years about baking. I've come a long way since the old brownie-baking videos that my sister and our buddy Jenna used to put on using a box mix of brownie batter that you just add oil, water, and eggs to.
I love baking and learning new things in the kitchen. I have also enjoyed the back & forth with blogging in general and sparking conversation & creativity in others as well as what they give back.
There are so many tips & tricks out there, so many small things you can do to achieve a heightened result in your baking. From typical pie crusts, to tricks to achieve sky-high biscuits, and giving you the key to my laminated pastry, my Scandinavian pastry and my no-fail pizza crust; not to mention just discussing what things I've been making or learning about lately. I hope this takes off & becomes a hobby of mine and a help to you.
So much of what I know comes from my Grandma G, recruiting me to help out in the Senior center in Ellsworth with everything from lefse & cake doughnuts, to rosettes & 14 pies for a bake sale, baking 4 at a time in 1 standard oven; she's an amazing woman with such great talents. She's taught my sister & myself so much.
If you like this idea, have areas you'd like to learn about, let me know. I also enjoy cooking, grilling, smoking, etc. I make meals at home every night of the week, trying to make hearty, protein packed foods, that give strength and energy to two growing boys.
